Litton Das takes over as Bangladesh ODI captain. Mehidy Hasan steps down to focus on regaining form.

Litton Das has been named Bangladesh's new ODI captain ahead of the 2027 World Cup cycle. He already leads the side in T20Is and will now assume responsibility across both white-ball formats. Mehidy Hasan, the previous ODI captain, is expected to focus on regaining form without the added leadership duties. The Bangladesh Cricket Board believes the change will allow Mehidy to concentrate on his batting and bowling contributions.

The BCB is betting that Mehidy's batting and bowling will improve once the captaincy is off his plate, but they haven't said what the plan is if Litton's own numbers slide during the qualification window.
