Shreyas Iyer moved up three places to fourth in the ICC men's T20I batting rankings after scoring a century in the opening game of India's series against the West Indies. The 31-year-old reached a career-best rating of 829 points before dropping to 798 after scores of 40 and 1 in the next two matches.

Ishan Kishan leads the rankings with 904 points, followed by Abhishek Sharma on 891 and Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan on 883. Farhan achieved his career-best rating after scoring 238 runs in Pakistan's three-match series against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan won the series 2-1 despite losing the final match. Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka retained their positions in the team rankings with Pakistan on 240 points and Sri Lanka on 221.

CricHubb Take

Iyer's ranking improvement shows how a single century can shift perceptions of a batter's consistency across formats. The gap between the top three and the rest of the field suggests the current generation of Indian openers has established a clear hierarchy in the shorter format.
