Jemimah Rodrigues will miss India Women's opening ODI against Zimbabwe at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara after failing to recover from a high-grade right hamstring tear. The experienced batter has continued rehabilitation work that includes strength training and weightlifting but has not been cleared for match play.

Zimbabwe captain Nomvelo Sibanda won the toss and elected to bat first, confirming that all-rounder Nkomo is being managed for a niggle. India handed a debut to left-arm seamer Jintimani Kalita and made two other changes from their T20 side.

India's XI includes Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Pratika Rawal, Harmanpreet Kaur, Tejal Hasabnis, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, Shree Charani, Kranti Gaud, Sayali Satghare and Kalita. Zimbabwe fielded Beloved Biza, Sharne Mayers, Nyasha Gwanzura, Modester Mupachikwa, Chiedza Dhururu, Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano, Michelle Mavunga, Sibanda, Tendai Makusha, Loryn Phiri and Olinder Chare.

CricHubb Take

Rodrigues' continued absence forces India to settle on a middle-order combination without their most experienced T20 batter, a situation that could persist through the remainder of the three-match series if her recovery timeline slips further.
