BCCI seeks IPL franchises' views on Impact Player rule by August 31

BCCI has asked all 10 IPL franchises to submit their views on the Impact Player rule by August 31.

The BCCI has asked all ten franchises for their take on the Impact Player rule. Teams have until Monday, August 31, to send in their thoughts on the rule that lets sides swap in an extra player mid-match.

Franchises are expected to spell out how the rule has changed their batting orders and the results that followed. That feedback will shape whatever the board decides next — keep it, tweak it, or drop it altogether.

A few sides have already flagged that the rule tilts things too far toward batting line-ups. Three seasons in, the BCCI wants numbers and experience before it decides what to do.

CricHubb Take

If the feedback tilts heavily against the rule, the BCCI may quietly drop it rather than risk another messy public debate next season.
