BCCI officials to meet on September 3 to plan India's ODI World Cup path
Key BCCI officials will meet on September 3 to discuss India's roadmap to the 2027 ODI World Cup.
The BCCI has confirmed that head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, Centre of Excellence head VVS Laxman, captains Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, and board secretary Devajit Saikia will attend the September 3 meeting in person.
The meeting will address India's long-term preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup, including player workload management and injury recovery protocols. The board expects to set clear return-to-play timelines for injured players ahead of the New Zealand tour.
Selectors and medical staff will also review the balance between bilateral commitments and player rest during the remainder of the 2026 season.

The meeting marks the first time captains have been included in a formal planning session since the 2023 World Cup, suggesting the board wants direct input on squad direction before finalising New Zealand tour selections.
