PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said he has never been afraid of criticism after the board sacked seven players and two coaching staff during the England tour. Naqvi spoke to the media on Wednesday. The overhaul followed Pakistan's 2-0 series deficit.

Naqvi said the decisions were taken to improve performance. He added that the board would continue to act in the team's interest. The third Test against England starts at Edgbaston next week.

The move has drawn mixed reactions inside Pakistan cricket.

Naqvi's public stance signals that the board views the overhaul as a long-term reset rather than a short-term fix.
