India Women open their three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe on Wednesday in Vadodara. The 2025 ODI World Cup winners enter the series after a 3-0 T20I sweep of the same opponents. Captain Smriti Mandhana and vice-captain Deepti Sharma will lead the side, with Jemimah Rodrigues out with a hamstring injury.

Yastika Bhatia, Harleen Deol, Tejal Hasabnis and Pratika Rawal have been added to the ODI squad. Yastika hit 112 off 84 for India A against Australia A last month, while Tejal struck 81 and 60 in her two innings. Harleen returns after captaining India A in England in June. N. Sree Charani, who has taken over 60 T20I wickets, will be part of the bowling attack.

The series is a tune-up for India's multi-format tour of South Africa in December and the inaugural Women's Champions Trophy next year. Zimbabwe remain 16th in the ICC women's T20I rankings after the T20I series.

CricHubb Take

The big question is whether India can keep their fringe players sharp when they won't get many overs against Zimbabwe's batting lineup.
