England name 16-player squad for Pakistan tri-series
England include Adil Rashid and Sam Curran while resting Jofra Archer for the tri-series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The England and Wales Cricket Board announced a 16-player squad for the tri-series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka that runs from October 18 to 31 in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Harry Brook will continue as captain after leading England to a 2-1 ODI series win over Sri Lanka last month.
Adil Rashid returns after recovering from a hand injury, while Sam Curran is back following a groin problem. Jordan Cox keeps wicket in the absence of Jos Buttler, who suffered a hamstring injury during the Sri Lanka series. Jofra Archer has been rested.
The squad includes first-time call-ups for 22-year-old all-rounder James Coles and 21-year-old seamer Henry Crocombe. Mason Crane earns a maiden ODI selection eight years after his only Test appearance. England open the tri-series against Pakistan on October 20 in Rawalpindi.

The squad composition shows England prioritising experience in spin and seam depth over blooding more new faces ahead of the 2027 World Cup cycle.
