Suryansh Shedge set for maiden ODI call-up against New Zealand
The Mumbai all-rounder is in line to replace Nitish Kumar Reddy for part of the five-match series that starts on 4 November.
Mumbai all-rounder Suryansh Shedge is expected to earn his first ODI cap for India's five-match series in New Zealand. Shedge took four wickets in the first unofficial ODI against Australia A and scored 66 in the final match of the series in Puducherry.
A BCCI source told PTI that Shedge's inclusion would allow Nitish Kumar Reddy to focus on the Test series that follows the limited-overs leg. Reddy is expected to play a significant role with bat and ball in the red-ball matches starting 19 November in Wellington.
The ODI series begins on 4 November in Auckland. The fifth ODI in Tauranga on 15 November leaves the Test squad with only two days to prepare before the first Test in Wellington.

Shedge's call-up shows the board is already planning for a post-Hardik world even before the all-rounder returns from injury.
