Pakistan withdraw from World Championship of Legends after PCB refuse NOCs

Pakistan have withdrawn from the World Championship of Legends after the PCB refused to issue NOCs to their players over conditions related to last year's India-Pakistan dispute.

Pakistan have withdrawn from the World Championship of Legends after the Pakistan Cricket Board refused to issue No-Objection Certificates to their players. The tournament began on October 3, but Pakistan's scheduled game against Bangladesh was postponed amid the NOC dispute.

The PCB's decision follows conditions it sought regarding last year's India-Pakistan controversy, including demands for an apology from Indian players. The WCL management rejected those demands, leading to Pakistan's withdrawal from the event.

Pakistan Champions had finished runners-up in both previous editions of the tournament. The WCL confirmed that the season continues with six teams following Pakistan's exit.

The withdrawal underscores how political considerations between cricket boards can override commercial and sporting interests, even in exhibition events designed for retired players.
