Bangladesh Cricket Board sets up independent harassment panel

BCB formed an independent five-member committee after an earlier panel recommended the step.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board formed a five-member independent committee to handle sexual-harassment complaints from women cricketers. Barrister Rashna Imam will chair the committee and Chandra Banerjee will serve as secretary. The panel was established after recommendations from an earlier inquiry led by Rubaba Dowla and follows a 2009 High Court directive and the board's own safeguarding policy. No current BCB staff were included on the committee to avoid internal influence.

The structure deliberately removes BCB officials from the process, signalling an attempt to restore trust with players who have raised complaints.
