PCB launches inquiry into Imam-ul-Haq injury at Lord's

PCB probes Imam-ul-Haq's calf injury after he failed to bat in either innings at Lord's.

The Pakistan Cricket Board will investigate how Imam-ul-Haq was managed after he sustained a low-grade calf tear during the second Test at Lord's. The opener didn't bat in either innings and was sent home with six other players after the defeat.

Selection committee member Aaqib Javed said the matter will be investigated and that Imam should have tried to bat. The batter may seek legal counsel as the inquiry proceeds.

The third Test begins at Edgbaston on September 9.

If the board finds the medical staff at fault, the real test will be whether they act on the findings or just file another report before the next tour.
