Lance Morris will return from an injury lay-off of more than 19 months when he plays for Scarborough against Willetton in WA Premier Cricket on Saturday. The 28-year-old fast bowler underwent pars stabilisation surgery in August last year and suffered a side strain before the current season.
Morris last played for Western Australia in March 2025 against New South Wales. He has taken 87 wickets in 24 Sheffield Shield matches at a strike rate of 43.37 and is capable of bowling speeds over 150 km/h.
Morris lost his Cricket Australia contract in May during his recovery period. He has played three ODIs for Australia and was called up to the Test squad without making his debut. He will miss Western Australia's next Sheffield Shield match starting 11 November.

Morris's comeback starts at club level, but the bigger question is whether a 28-year-old who has already lost his national contract can still be trusted with the workload of an Australian fast-bowling role.
