Justin Greaves ruled out of second ODI with calf injury
West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves ruled out of second ODI against India with calf injury sustained during his century in the series opener.
West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves has been ruled out of the second ODI against India after sustaining a calf injury during his century in the series opener in Thiruvananthapuram. Cricket West Indies confirmed the 32-year-old picked up the injury while scoring 101 off 108 balls in the first match, where the visitors posted 295 for seven before India chased the target in 41.4 overs.
The injury leaves a gap at the top of the order after Greaves and John Campbell put on 135 for the first wicket. Teenager Jewel Andrew is in line to be promoted in the second ODI as West Indies attempt to level the three-match series in Guwahati on Wednesday.
India return to a venue where they have won both previous ODIs, with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma among those with centuries there. The Barsapara Stadium has seen all four completed innings exceed 300 runs.

The loss of Greaves removes West Indies' most reliable opener at the moment they need to chase a series-levelling win, forcing a teenage replacement into a high-pressure chase.
