The BCCI has directed state associations to take concrete steps to develop and support differently-abled cricket across India.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has written to all 38 state associations asking them to create opportunities and facilities for differently-abled cricketers. The letter follows a decision taken at the board's 95th Annual General Meeting in Mumbai on September 18.

Saikia asked the associations to promote participation and provide encouragement, assistance and resources within their jurisdictions. He said cooperation among state units would strengthen the spirit of inclusivity.

Ravi Chauhan, general secretary of the Differently Abled Cricket Council of India, welcomed the move. He said the decision gives players across the country greater recognition and hope of a future domestic league.

The letter shifts responsibility from a central committee to every state body; whether facilities actually appear will depend on how many associations treat the request as optional guidance rather than binding instruction.
