The BCCI has invited franchise owners, state associations and broadcasters to a joint meeting in Mumbai on 15 October to plan for the IPL's 20th season in 2027.

BCCI secretary Devajit Sakia said the board wants to review issues from past seasons and gather feedback on hosting, venue operations and match-day coordination. State associations have been included after several years of being excluded from such discussions.

The meeting follows a decision at the BCCI's annual general body meeting last month to celebrate the league's two-decade milestone with a year-long programme beginning in December 2027. The board is also expected to decide on the Impact Player rule before the mini-auction retention deadline in December.

By widening the invitation list beyond franchises, the board is preparing to share the operational load of a landmark season while testing whether the Impact Player rule survives another year of scrutiny.
