New Zealand lose Chapman and Foulkes ahead of India T20I series
New Zealand lost Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes to injury ahead of the five-match T20I series against India, with Josh Clarkson and Blair Tickner named as replacements.
New Zealand suffered a double injury blow ahead of their five-match T20I series against India, with Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes ruled out. Josh Clarkson and Blair Tickner were called up as replacements in the 16-member squad. Chapman suffered a left hamstring tear during the European T20 league last month and is expected to be available for the subsequent ODI series. Foulkes injured his right hip flexor during a recent Canterbury training session, with his return timeline still undetermined. Head coach Rob Walter said he was disappointed for both players but welcomed the additions of Clarkson and Tickner. The series begins in Christchurch on 22 October, with matches also scheduled in Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton. Rachin Ravindra remains unavailable after a shoulder injury sustained during a promotional event.

The injury cluster reduces New Zealand's depth at a time when they face a full India touring party, forcing them to rely on players who have had limited recent exposure to the Indian batting lineup.
