The International Cricket Council released the 2027 ODI World Cup schedule on Thursday. The 14-team tournament will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, with 57 matches across 12 venues. India opens its campaign against Australia in Cape Town on October 7 before facing Pakistan in Johannesburg on October 10.

India and Pakistan were drawn in Group A with Australia, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and one qualifier. The top three teams from each group advance to the Super 7 round-robin stage. India faces Afghanistan in Tshwane on October 14 and a fourth group fixture on October 17 against Qualifier A.

The tournament begins with a Super Series in Namibia from October 2-6. The Super 7 phase carries no points from the group stage. Semifinals are scheduled for November 17 and 18 in Cape Town and Centurion, with the final set for November 21.

The Super 7 reset means even dominant group-stage teams start the knockout phase with zero points. India's path through Australia, Pakistan and Afghanistan in the first four matches leaves little margin for early slips.
