India had already secured the series before the fourth T20I began. The result of the final match therefore carried no bearing on the outcome of the five-match contest.
The series victory gave India an unassailable lead regardless of what unfolded in Auckland. No further points or ranking changes rested on the remaining fixture.
The fourth T20I will still be played as scheduled, with both sides fielding full-strength sides despite the series already being decided.
