India and West Indies were each fined for slow over-rates in the third ODI in Chandigarh. India were found four overs short and fined 20 per cent of their match fee while West Indies were two overs short and fined 10 per cent.

The penalties were announced after time allowances were taken into consideration. India bowling coach Morne Morkel described Kuldeep Yadav as a genuine match-winner ahead of the five-match T20I series against West Indies. Kuldeep is five wickets short of reaching 100 T20I wickets.

Morkel spoke at the pre-match press conference in Lucknow on Tuesday and also addressed the composition of India's opening pair.

The heavier fine on India reflects the cost of carrying an extra spinner in conditions that offered little assistance, a trade-off selectors will revisit for the T20I series.
