Paul Farbrace has left Sussex to become Lancashire's new director of cricket.

Lancashire appointed Paul Farbrace as director of cricket on Tuesday. Farbrace had been due to move into a part-time director role at Sussex from November.
He replaces Mark Chilton, who left Old Trafford last month after five years. Lancashire finished seventh in Division Two of the County Championship, their lowest position in history.
Farbrace guided Sussex to third place in Division One despite a 12-point deduction at the start of the season. He had earlier led the county to promotion from Division Two in 2023.
