PCB drops Atherton and Hussain from tri-series commentary panel
Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain were omitted from the six-member panel for the ODI tri-series starting October 18.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has picked six commentators for the men’s ODI tri-series with England and Sri Lanka that runs from 18 to 31 October. Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain are left out of the group that includes Waqar Younis, Aamir Sohail, Bazid Khan, Urooj Mumtaz, Roshan Abeysinghe and Mark Butcher.
The decision comes after Atherton spoke with Imran Khan’s sons on Sky Sports in August 2026. The 18-minute interview touched on the former prime minister’s health while in jail, and the PCB lodged a complaint with the channel over its political tone.
Waqar Younis joins the panel only from the second match, when Pakistan play England in Rawalpindi on 20 October. The series begins on 18 October with Pakistan against Sri Lanka at the same ground.
