Selectors continue to back Rinku Singh despite limited opportunities
Rinku Singh remains on the fringes despite repeated selection in white-ball squads.
India selectors have persisted with Rinku Singh in limited-overs squads without granting him an extended run at number six. The KKR finisher has featured in multiple T20I series this year but rarely receives consecutive matches.
Rinku’s last substantial innings came during the home series against England in January. Since then he has batted only in cameos across away tours.
The selection pattern suggests the board still sees him as the designated finisher. However, the lack of consistent opportunities has raised questions about his long-term role.

The revolving door at number six prevents any finisher from developing the muscle memory required for death overs under pressure.
