Nahid Rana needs six to eight weeks before bowling again
Nahid Rana faces another six to eight weeks out after lower-back issues emerged during his recovery from earlier injuries.
Bangladesh speedster Nahid Rana remains at least six to eight weeks away from resuming bowling sessions after a medical assessment in Australia. He has been out since July 17 with a shin stress fracture that later brought a side strain and lower-back discomfort.
Doctors outlined a 10-day rehab phase in Australia, then more work in Bangladesh. BCB chief physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury said the timeline could shrink or stretch depending on how he responds. Rana is not expected to return before the first Test against the West Indies on October 28.
His absence puts his participation in the World Test Championship series against South Africa, starting November 15 in Johannesburg, in doubt. BCB officials stressed that medical fitness does not equal match fitness for a fast bowler.

Rana's latest setback may force Bangladesh to decide whether he stays in their red-ball plans at all, or whether the BCB fast-tracks another young quick whose body hasn't yet been through three injury cycles in six months.
