The Meghalaya High Court invalidated the original Ranji Trophy squad selected by the Apex Council two days before a Plate match against Nagaland.

The court declared decisions by Secretary Reynold Kharkamni illegal after he was suspended over allegations of inaction on sexual harassment complaints in the U23 women's team. President James Sangma oversaw the selection of the new squad.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said the board had to follow the court order. Batter Rahul Dalal said the players had completed three rounds and were preparing for their fourth match when the change occurred. Dalal said the players learned of the change on Friday and continued training on Saturday and Sunday.
