Harshit Rana ruled out of New Zealand tour due to delayed rehab
Harshit Rana's return is pushed back by illness; Hardik Pandya needs six to eight weeks of treatment for a calf issue.
Harshit Rana will miss India's tour of New Zealand after a delay in his rehabilitation from a low-grade thigh strain. He suffered the injury during a match simulation on September 7 and later contracted a fever, sore throat and cold.
India play five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests in New Zealand from October 22 to December 1. Rana is expected to return for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy next month.
Hardik Pandya has also been ruled out of the tour after developing discomfort in his right calf. He will undergo bisphosphonate therapy and vitamin D supplementation for six to eight weeks.

Both injuries compress India's fast-bowling depth for the T20 World Cup cycle and may force selectors to fast-track uncapped pacers in domestic tournaments.
