Arunachal Pradesh set to forfeit Ranji Trophy opener amid legal dispute

Legal dispute leaves Arunachal Pradesh unable to field a team for its Ranji Trophy opener against Nagaland.

Arunachal Pradesh is expected to forfeit its Ranji Trophy Plate group opener against Nagaland at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. A legal dispute between two factions of the Arunachal Cricket Association has left the team unable to finalise selection or complete preparations.

Players have appealed to the BCCI for intervention. Captain Kamsha Yangfo said the uncertainty affects careers and livelihoods. Fast bowler Mibom Mosu, who has trained at the MRF Pace Foundation, described the situation as a major setback.

Arunachal also failed to field an Under-19 side for its Vinoo Mankad Trophy opener against Sikkim earlier this week. The state association has not conducted player selection for the senior team.
