Tilak Varma has no fixed batting position in India's T20I side

Tilak Varma continues to bat in shifting positions for India despite stated preference.

CricHubb2h ago

Tilak Varma has batted in a different position in each of his last three T20I innings despite his preference for number three. He has scored two international centuries from that slot and holds a T20I batting average of 44.13 with a strike rate of 147.47.

India's vice-captain in the shortest format has been used across the order depending on match situations. He has taken five T20I wickets but is yet to make his Test debut or open the batting in white-ball internationals.

The 22-year-old's flexibility has seen him compared with former India batter Rahul Dravid, who was similarly moved between roles during his career.

CricHubb Take

India's willingness to keep shifting Tilak suggests the team values adaptability over settling on an optimal position for its most promising middle-order batter.
