UP Warriorz enter Wednesday's WPL 2027 mini-auction in Kochi with the largest remaining purse and the most vacancies. They hold Rs 3.75 crore to fill eight spots after releasing ten players. The franchise retained Meg Lanning, Phoebe Litchfield, Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone.

Gujarat Giants sit second with Rs 1.25 crore for three places. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have Rs 1.15 crore for five slots, while Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians hold Rs 1.10 crore and Rs 90 lakh respectively. A total of 146 players will be available for the 27 vacancies across all five teams.

Indian wicketkeepers are expected to draw strong interest after the release of several established glovemen. G Kamalini, Uma Chetry and Taniyaa Bhatia are among the specialist keepers in the pool. UP Warriorz are also expected to target overseas all-rounders such as Grace Harris to strengthen their middle-order hitting.

CricHubb Take

The emphasis on Indian keepers and overseas power-hitters suggests teams are prioritising balance over star names, a direct response to last season's gaps rather than a general spending spree.
