Chris Lynn banned for one month after positive cocaine test

Lynn hasn't played since the ban began and hasn't signed a BBL contract for the coming season.

Chris Lynn received a one-month ban after a sample taken on 18 July tested positive for a cocaine metabolite. The 36-year-old admitted using the substance on 15 July outside competition, and one of the two anti-doping charges was dropped because the concentration fell below the WADA threshold. The Cricket Regulator reduced the original three-month sanction to one month after Lynn completed a substance-abuse treatment programme on 30 August.

CricHubb Take

Lynn's shortened ban leaves him eligible for the WBBL, yet no BBL team has signed him — a signal that domestic boards may still treat cocaine breaches as career risks long after the sport's regulators have closed the file.
