UP Warriorz sign Sushma Verma for Rs 30 lakh
UP Warriorz added 33-year-old wicketkeeper Sushma Verma at the WPL 2027 mini-auction after a four-year absence from the competition.
UP Warriorz bought wicketkeeper Sushma Verma for Rs 30 lakh at the WPL 2027 mini-auction in Kochi on Wednesday. The 33-year-old had not played in the competition since representing Gujarat Giants in 2023.
Verma was the only bidder for the India international, who last appeared in the WPL four years ago. UP Warriorz completed eight signings in total for an outlay of Rs 2.6 crore, including Sophie Molineux, Sneh Rana and Grace Harris.
Several established names went unsold at the base price of Rs 30 lakh, among them Taniya Bhatia, Nuzhat Parween, Saima Thakor and 19-year-old Mithali Ayodhya. The auction featured 146 players for 27 available slots.
