Former India spinner Ramesh Powar was appointed to the five-member senior national selection committee on Monday. Pragyan Ojha remains chairperson of the panel following Ajit Agarkar's departure.
The Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjape recommended Powar's inclusion. The 48-year-old represented India in two Tests and 31 ODIs and has coached the Indian women's team, Mumbai and Gujarat.
The committee now consists of Ojha, Shiv Sundar Das, RP Singh, Ajay Ratra and Powar. Their immediate task includes finalising squads for upcoming limited-overs tours.
