The BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee will interview candidates for the national junior selection committee on Tuesday.
The BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee will interview candidates for the national junior selection committee at the Board's Mumbai headquarters on Tuesday. Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjpe will conduct the interviews.
About 15 candidates have been shortlisted for the five-member committee, with interviews expected both virtually and in person. Ramesh Powar, Praveen Kumar, Devendra Bundela, Saurasish Lahiri, Ashish Winston Zaidi, Sudip Tyagi and Nikhil Doru are among the prominent applicants.
The previous panel, headed by S. Sharath, finished its tenure on September 17. It stayed on for another week to finish pending work, including India U-23 squad selection for the C.K. Nayudu Trophy and a provisional Asia Cup squad.
CricHubb Take
The CAC is handling the junior committee because the BCCI's last direct appointment drew heavy criticism, so the Board wants a visible layer of oversight this time.
