WPL franchises release overseas players ahead of October 28 auction
WPL teams released several overseas players with RCB, UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants parting ways with experienced names.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru released Grace Harris and Linsey Smith. UP Warriorz let go of Deandra Dottin and Chloe Tryon ahead of the WPL 2027 auction. Gujarat Giants released Danielle Wyatt-Hodge.
Delhi Capitals released Alana King among six players. Mumbai Indians let go of G Kamalini and Saika Ishaque. The five teams retained 63 players including 23 overseas recruits.
Ellyse Perry confirmed her availability for RCB after missing the 2026 season for personal reasons. The auction will be held in Kochi on October 28.

RCB's decision to release two overseas bowlers while keeping Perry suggests they'll target a different overseas balance next season — possibly a frontline spinner to pair with the Australian all-rounder.
