Former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan has said that injuries are an inevitable part of the game amid growing concerns over player fitness in the Indian team. Speaking at the World Championship of Legends in Dubai, Pathan stated that the BCCI and team management have put excellent support systems in place for injured players.

Pathan noted that several key players including Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy are currently dealing with injuries. He expressed confidence that the players will recover with proper care and support from the board.

India Champions are currently competing in the WCL 2026 season. The team has recorded one win and three losses in their opening four matches. Pathan said the tournament allows former players to reunite and entertain fans while maintaining competitive standards.

Pathan's reassurance masks the structural problem. When four frontline players are sidelined simultaneously, the issue is no longer individual misfortune but a scheduling model that leaves no margin for the physical toll of year-round cricket.
