India became the first men's team to reach 200 T20I wins during a four-wicket victory over New Zealand in Christchurch.
India reached 200 T20I wins during their four-wicket victory over New Zealand in Christchurch on Saturday. The visitors chased 181 after losing five wickets for 70. Tilak Varma scored an unbeaten 51 off 26 balls and Nitish Kumar Reddy remained not out on 26 from 13 deliveries in their unbroken 69-run partnership for the seventh wicket.
India have now played 300 T20Is, winning 200, losing 83, tying seven and finishing 10 without a result. Their win-loss ratio stands at 2.409. Pakistan have played the most T20Is with 304 matches but have only 176 wins. New Zealand have won 135 of their 269 matches.
The third T20I will be played in Wellington, followed by matches in Auckland and Hamilton. A five-match ODI series starts on November 4 and a two-match Test series begins on November 19.
CricHubb Take
The record shows India have achieved more wins than any other side despite playing fewer matches than Pakistan. This gap in results points to sustained performance rather than fixture volume.
