PCB chairman Naqvi defends overhaul after England defeats
Naqvi cites rankings to justify mid-series changes during England tour.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi defended the decision to drop seven players and sack the head coach of the Test team midway through the England tour. He said critics should look at the rankings before judging the changes.
Pakistan suffered heavy defeats in the first two Tests, prompting the board to send players and coaches home. Naqvi stated that the board had to take difficult decisions in the interest of Pakistan cricket.
The third Test begins at Edgbaston on September 9.
