India women beat Thailand by 78 runs in T20I series opener
India women defeat Thailand by 78 runs but batting concerns remain ahead of T20 World Cup.
India made 167 for six at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday. Thailand replied with 89 in 19.2 overs, undone after a 35-run opening stand when their last seven wickets fell for 54.
Deepti Sharma took three wickets and Radha Yadav claimed two. Pooja Vastrakar and Arundhati Reddy each chipped in with one to back the spinners.
The sides meet again on Thursday in the second of five T20Is.

India's spinners won't face this much generosity again once the World Cup starts, so the middle order's inability to accelerate against slower, tighter lines will become the real story.
