India pacer Prasidh Krishna will be out of action for at least three weeks after sustaining a left hamstring injury during the second ODI against West Indies in Guwahati. He bowled only five overs before leaving the field and missed the third match in New Chandigarh.

The 30-year-old has checked into the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He is expected to regain full fitness in around three weeks and could start bowling at full intensity in four weeks, which puts him in doubt for the opening round of the Ranji Trophy and makes his availability for the New Zealand ODIs starting November 4 uncertain.

India captain Shubman Gill said the team hopes to have a full-strength squad available for the New Zealand series to settle on its preferred combination ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup.

CricHubb Take

The injury timeline creates a selection dilemma for the New Zealand tour. Even if Prasidh returns to bowling within the projected window, India may need to decide whether to risk him in ODIs or preserve him for the Tests that follow immediately after.
