Chennai Super Kings have named Mohit Sharma as bowling coach and Albie Morkel and Gareth Batty as assistant coaches for the 2027 IPL season. The franchise parted ways with Eric Simons, Tommy Simsek, Rajiv Kumar, Greg King and Michael Hussey on 26 October before confirming the new appointments the following day.

Mohit Sharma returns to CSK after playing for the franchise between 2013 and 2015 and again in 2019. Albie Morkel, who won titles with CSK in 2010 and 2011, recently became head coach of Joburg Super Kings in the SA20. Gareth Batty joins after guiding Surrey to three consecutive County Championship titles.

Head coach Zaheer Khan now has until the 15 November retention deadline to finalise the squad ahead of the mini-auction on 16 December. The changes follow three consecutive seasons without a playoff appearance.
