Sabbhineni Meghana announced her retirement from all forms of cricket on Friday. The 30-year-old Andhra batter played three ODIs and 17 T20Is after making her T20I debut against West Indies in 2016 and her ODI debut against New Zealand in 2022.

Meghana was part of the India side that won silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She accumulated 302 runs in 14 Women's Premier League innings across one season with Gujarat Giants and two with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, including the 2024 title-winning campaign.

In her statement, Meghana thanked the BCCI, Andhra Cricket Association, Railways and both WPL franchises. She said she intends to remain involved in cricket through mentoring younger players.

Meghana's exit highlights how domestic and franchise experience can sustain a career even when international opportunities remain limited. Her commitment to mentoring keeps her inside the system rather than walking away completely.
