Indian batter Sabbhineni Meghana announced her retirement from all formats of cricket on Friday. The 30-year-old from Andhra Pradesh played three ODIs and 17 T20Is after making her debut in a WODI series against New Zealand in 2022.

Meghana represented Railways in domestic cricket and was part of the Indian team that won silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She also played in the Women's Premier League for Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore, winning the title with RCB in 2024.

In her retirement statement, Meghana thanked the BCCI, Andhra Cricket Association, RCB, Gujarat Giants and RSPB for their support. She said she intends to stay connected to cricket by mentoring the next generation of players.

Meghana's decision to focus on mentoring rather than coaching roles reflects a growing trend among retired players who want to contribute without the administrative pressures of formal coaching positions.
