ICC confirms India begin 2027 World Cup campaign against Australia
The Men in Blue will also meet Pakistan in the group stage before a likely Super 7s rematch.
The International Cricket Council released the full schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup on Friday. India will begin their campaign on October 7 against defending champions Australia at Newlands in Cape Town.
India are placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Australia, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Qualifier A. The 57-match tournament will run from October 2 to November 21 across South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
India will face Pakistan on October 10 at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. The new format includes a Super 7s stage after the group phase, with the Wanderers set to host the final on November 21.

The compressed Super 7s window means India and Pakistan could meet three times in six weeks, turning one bilateral rivalry into the tournament's central subplot.
