Litton Das ruled out of UAE tri-series with hip injury
Litton Das misses the tri-series after failing a fitness test; Towhid Hridoy leads in his absence.
Bangladesh captain Litton Das has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI tri-series in the UAE due to a right hip joint issue. The 30-year-old was appointed full-time ODI captain in July and was set to lead the side for the first time in the format.
Towhid Hridoy has taken over as stand-in captain for the series, which began on Saturday against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi. Mehidy Hasan Miraz is also unavailable after suffering from fever for the last three days.
Litton attempted a fitness test on Saturday but could not meet the required benchmark. Bangladesh are also without the off-spinner for the opener.

Litton's injury removes the player the BCB had positioned as the long-term white-ball leader just months after his appointment, forcing Hridoy into a caretaker role that may shape selection thinking ahead of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers.
