Joburg Super Kings appoint Allan Donald as bowling coach
Joburg Super Kings named Allan Donald as bowling coach for the SA20 2027 season.
Joburg Super Kings signed former South Africa pacer Allan Donald as bowling coach for the SA20 season that starts in January 2027. Donald joins head coach Albie Morkel, who took over when Stephen Fleming left. The 59-year-old has coached Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Pune Warriors India in the IPL, and the national sides of England, New Zealand, South Africa and Bangladesh.
Joburg Super Kings are still chasing their first SA20 title. Their squad for 2027 features Faf du Plessis, Kieron Pollard, Jason Holder and Blessing Muzarabani. Donald also spent time with Warwickshire and Kent in English county cricket.
The franchise is rounding out its coaching staff ahead of the January start, adding another layer of international experience to a group that already includes Morkel.

Donald’s county and IPL experience with English and Indian setups may help Joburg develop Muzarabani and other local quicks who’ll need to hold their own when overseas pacers are rotated out.
