Mohammad Rizwan seeks clarification from NCCIA over betting probe
Rizwan questions shift in NCCIA enquiry focus and requests return of seized phone ahead of October 2 appearance.
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has written to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency seeking clarification on the scope of its investigation. Rizwan said the initial notice referred to betting and gambling, while a later letter mentioned only provisions of the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act without specifying any charge.
Rizwan confirmed he will appear before the agency on October 2 as instructed. His legal team questioned whether the NCCIA had consulted the PCB or ICC anti-corruption units during the enquiry. They also asked for the return of Rizwan's mobile phone, which was seized in London after Pakistan's Test defeat at Lord's.
Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq were called back from the England tour after the NCCIA opened its investigation. Imam completed a questionnaire provided by the agency, while Rizwan sought legal advice before responding.

The confusion between betting allegations and PECA provisions suggests Pakistan's investigative agencies may lack coordination with cricket's existing anti-corruption framework.
