Gloucestershire all-rounder Daaryoush Ahmed signed a one-year contract extension on October 23, securing his place at the county until the end of the 2027 season. Ahmed joined Gloucestershire in 2025 through the MCC pathway after progressing via the county academy and South Asian Cricket Academy.

In the 2026 County Championship he scored an unbeaten 90 against Middlesex and shared a 144-run eighth-wicket stand that helped secure a draw. With the ball he took six wickets at an economy of 3.53. In List A cricket he posted career-best figures of 4 for 56 against Northamptonshire and struck his maiden half-century against Somerset.

Director of cricket Jon Lewis said the decision reflected Ahmed's local roots at Golden Hill Cricket Club in Bristol and the progress he has shown over the past year. Ahmed said the club means a lot to him and his family.

Ahmed's retention shows Gloucestershire backing a locally developed player who has already produced match-shaping performances in both formats.
