Lancashire decline to offer Anderson 2027 contract
Lancashire will not renew Anderson's deal despite his 50-wicket season and player-of-the-year award.
Lancashire have decided against offering James Anderson a contract for the 2027 season, according to Daily Mail Sport. The 44-year-old seamer claimed 50 wickets in 11 County Championship matches this year and was named the county's Championship Player of the Year.
Anderson retired from international cricket in 2024 but continued playing red-ball cricket for Lancashire. The county finished second from bottom in Division Two and is reviewing its cricket operations.
No retirement announcement has been made. Anderson's next move remains unclear ahead of the 2027 season.

Anderson's individual excellence could not offset Lancashire's poor campaign, showing how club results now shape even proven veterans' futures.
