Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner Ajith Ram returned to first-class cricket this week after missing the entire 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season with a knee injury. The 28-year-old claimed four wickets in the second innings against Uttarakhand at the MAC Stadium.

Ajith Ram said he could barely sleep for the first three months after the injury sustained during the 2025 TNPL. He took 98 wickets in 19 matches at an average of 17.35 before the layoff.

Tamil Nadu face Railways next in the Ranji Trophy. Ajith Ram said his goal remains to contribute meaningfully rather than chase personal milestones.
