India to host inaugural Women's Champions Trophy after Sri Lanka stripped of rights
ICC shifts Women's Champions Trophy to India after governance concerns remove Sri Lanka as host.
The ICC has moved the inaugural Women's Champions Trophy from Sri Lanka to India. The six-team T20I tournament will run from February 14 to 28, 2027.
Matches will be played at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and Vadodara International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan will not participate as the event features the six top-ranked T20I sides.
Sri Lanka lost hosting rights due to governance concerns. Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka will compete in the new event.

The tournament's relocation shows how governance standards can now determine major event hosting, a shift from the past when infrastructure alone decided bids.
